A - I was challenged to a duel, mano a womano. At high noon, K-Man and I met at the range. "I'm calling you out," he said, his lip curing in a sneer. "I don't like the way you smell and your cats are ugly."
I flared my nostrils and stared him down. "You sorry excuse for a marksman? My grandma could outshoot you. You'll be kissing my boot before this day is over."
We squared off against our paper targets, fingers twitching over our holsters. A tumbleweed rolled by. "Your move, pardner," I said.
"Is the line ready? The line is ready," called our second. On the whistle, hands flew to iron and pistols leapt into waiting palms. The front sight came into my line of view and froze into crystal clarity. The trigger was squeezed and flash blew from the barrel. The slide rocketed backward and the extractor claw drew the spent shell casing rearward. Brass jumped from the ejection port onto K-Man's head and the slide rammed forward, chambering another round.
Again and again, the muzzle flashed and jacketed rounds flew downrange, puncturing cardboard. Standing, kneeling, prone, walking, running, we hurl lead and copper through the hapless silhouette until the magazines are empty and the dust settles. "Damn, I was eating Alice's brass the whole way," complains K-Man of the spent shells that rained down upon him throughout the course. After clearing the line, the judge approaches the targets, but it is obvious that Alice is victorious even though both duelists have 100%. K-Man's group is just a little bit high and left.
Again, our two duelists go head to head. This time in the bullseye...the circle of excellence. When the dust settles, K-Man sees a spot low and left on Alice's target and cheers, but on closer inspection, it is mouse poop. K-Man falls again, 276 to 288. K-Man is finally forced to admit that fixed wing is better than rotary wing (Planes are better than choppers).
What an exciting day. :)

Here's a bit more -
It felt cold in his trembling grip, his fingers encircling it. He fought against his own hand as it plucked the cylinder from his belt and brought it in front of him. His body resisted as it slowly took a firm stance from Juyo, settled, with feet shoulder-width apart – it was all instinct.
Bastila saw the defensive posture form and an eager grin crept into her features. “What happened to the brave Revan? ‘Always forward…always aggressive’ you loved to say.”
Revan continued to back away until his back pressed up against a cold durasteel wall.
Bastila struck.
She thrust the point of her weapon forward and Revan twisted away, letting the blade sizzle into the metal wall. With her double-bladed lightsaber, Bastila followed up with a scything cut, using the other blade. Revan dropped out of the way of the arcing, red beam and rolled behind her.
I frickin' love this line:
"scything cut". Niiiice.
